A CBSS Senior Officials meeting and an international summit led to the CBSS action plan on unaccompanied and trafficked children.
The programme on unaccompanied and trafficked children included all the eleven CBSS member states. Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova also took part in the technical implementation and cooperation.
2002 was the establishing year of the group as a formal entity within the CBSS with a unit at the CBSS Secretariat. In addition to the administrative setup this entailed, the group adopted a priority paper and activity plan to guide their work.
With the concept of becoming a ‘Barnahus on the internet,’ the idea for a regional IT network first arose in 1998. This became the now-retired “Child Centre” website, and was a key development in the establishment of the Expert Group.
