Learn about the You are Enough™ parental peer support groups for parents of child victims of online sexual violence

Children today are increasingly vulnerable to online sexual abuse and exploitation. Project 2KNOW seeks to enhance understanding of these crimes and to develop effective support mechanisms for victims and their families. This webinar in the 2KNOW series presents the findings of evaluation research of the manualised You are Enough™ peer support group specifically for parents and caregivers whose children have fallen victims online.

In the webinar, Protect Children will introduce an evaluation summary of piloting the You are Enough™ – online crimes peer support groups in Ireland and Finland. The report sheds light on the devastating impact of online child sexual abuse and exploitation on victims and their families. The evaluation summary will focus on families’ experiences from parents’ and caregivers’ perspective during lengthy criminal proceedings and healing processes including the resembling trauma symptoms victims and parents often exhibit and importance of professionals’ trauma-informed approach when working with families affected by online sexual violence.

Project 2KNOW

Project 2KNOW is a two-year project funded by the European Commission’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV), which aims to improve data collection on violence against children and to offer a scalable parental peer support model for carers of child victims of sexual abuse. The project partners include Protect Children, the University of Eastern Finland, and the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS).
