
German presidency 2022-2023 to focus on sexual violence against children
As of 1 July 2022, Germany has assumed the presidency of the CBSS and of the Expert Group on Children at Risk.
The vision of the CBSS Expert Group on Children at Risk is that children in the Baltic Sea Region enjoy their rights as recognised in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This guidance presents the risks and considerations for using photographs of children in communications, with respect to children's rights to privacy, integrity and protection.
On 1 July 2021, Norway took over the Presidency from Lithuania. Focuses for Children at Risk will include the impact of Covid-19, and on building trust between the child protection systems in the region.
The Expert Group’s work is guided by the Safe & Secure Region priority of the CBSS, and the 2020-2025 mandate and strategy of the Expert Group.

As part of their strategy for 2020-2025, the expert group is undertaking a mapping of national child protection systems, and promising practice for prevention and early intervention.
The presidency featured a conference “Children’s emotional health: what achievements the countries can be proud of and what challenges remain unresolved”. It further investigated the role of Barnahus in the identification and investigation of child trafficking and the support and assistance provided to victims.
